Kaskade - Fire in Your New Shoes (with Martina of Dragonette)

Dragonette played with Class Actress at Brooklyn Bowl last night. We were there for the latter, but that didn't mean Dragonette didn't have some fun moments.

This is a single from the upcoming Dynasty release from Kaskade, but it sounds just like a Dragonette song. In thinking about their show yesterday, I actually can picture them playing this song even though they didn't. It features the oft-used contrast of a soft-spoken, yet dramatic verse and a synth-blasting chorus. Perhaps what makes it boring so quickly is how predictable its structure is: verse, pre-chorus, chorus, repeat. The pedestrian songwriting is a sad foil to Martina's enthralling performance.
